2 dead, 1 injured in shooting; Suspect arrested
Police have arrested a suspect in the shootings of three people Sunday in Lauderhill.
Lauderhill police and the Broward Sheriff's Office were called to Eric Eugene Montgomery's mother's home in the 2500 block of Northwest 14th Street early Monday morning.
They had been searching for a 2004 Ford F-150 champagne colored truck with a damaged passenger door, which was towed from the home earlier in the morning.
Montgomery, 28, is accused of killing his 34-year-old wife and 19-year-old stepdaughter, police said.
The teen was home from college on winter break and was supposed to head back to Jacksonville on Monday.
Police said Montgomery also shot his 73-year-old grandmother the same night. She was taken to Broward General Medical Center for treatment of a gunshot wound to her arm.
Montgomery and his wife have a 7-year-old daughter, who was home at the time of the shootings but was not injured.
It's unclear what sparked the gunfire but relatives told Local 10's Terrell Forney there had been an argument at the home earlier in the day. That argument became so heated that other family members were called over to intervene.
